Chuck Norris Defeated in Slovakia!  Sept. 24, 2012

Chuck Norris is revered around the world.  The mere mention of his name brings excitement and fear in those that know - but are not worthy - of his power.  It is something truly amazing.  That is why his name was chosen for a bridge connecting Slovakia and Austria.  However, Chuck Norris was defeated by Slovakian officials who decided his name was too flippant.  Flippant?  Hell no!  His name commands proper respect.  Chuck Norris is anything but lacking in seriousness.  And, the name officials chose instead?  The "Freedom Cycling Bridge."   Oh yeah, I probably should have told you the bridge is for pedestrians and cyclists.  Now, the only thing I can gather from this that is flippant is the thought of giving a bridge like this the name of Chuck Norris.  After all, who wants to hear a conversation like this?

They should have named it after Arnold Schwarzenegger.  He's Austrian after all and much more likely to be caught riding a bicycle.

I Love Cheesy Instructional Videos!  April 4, 2012

As I entered adulthood, and the workforce, in the early 90's I was subject to an incessant amount of instructional videos.  It didn't matter what job I had.  There always seemed to be a requirement to watch some POS, poorly produced, and absolutely uninformative instructional video.  I hated watching them.  As the years have passed, and the videos subsided, I've grown nostalgic and now enjoy watching these shotty samples of the system.

I happened upon this parody of an instructional video and laughed my ass off.  It's a true gem complete with a well placed Alf reference.
