Carteret County deputies have charged Bradley Turner, 40, and Christy Turner, 30, both of La Grange, for the shots fired after a road rage incident in Newport. Bradley is charged with discharging a weapon into property, two counts of assault by pointing a gun, going armed to the terror of the people, injury to personal property, and assault. Christy is charged with two counts of assault by pointing a gun.
The search is on for two road rage suspects. The Carteret County Sheriff's Office has released video of a road rage incident that occured over the weekend in Newport that resulted in shots being fired by yet unknown suspects.
Carteret County deputies say it happened around 1:00 p.m. Sunday on Highway 70 and English Street in Newport. The road rage was all began in the James City area of Craven County, and continued along Highway 70 into Carteret County. It is there that deputies say a man got out of a grey colored Toyota SUV and started fighting with a man in a Chevy truck. Then, the man got back into the Toyota SUV, drove off, returned minutes later, and started shooting at the Chevy truck. The video captures the altercation in Newport just before the shots were fired.
The odd thing here is the suspects are a family of three, which included a toddler, that look like they just came from church. Wow, appearances are deceiving. When I saw the still photos released by the sheriff's office I initial thought they were screens shots of self defense training course, or from the new FX show The Americans.
