Somewhere, Seth Cohen is fist-pumping this news.
Ben McKenzie’s Batman origin series Gotham has received a full-series pickup by Fox, the network has confirmed.
Though the high-profile project had been expected to get the green light, Fox is making it officially official one week before it announces its full fall lineup. Just to, ya know, show that they’re as excited about this series as the rest of the world.
This is basically the Batman version of Smallville. It chronicles the early years of Jim Gordon as a detective and the events after Bruce Wayne’s parents were shot. It also includes young versions of The Penguin, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman.
