2013 Brings 'Schools' To The World! [AUDIO]

It has been a long time since I heard a band and thought, "There is something special here." Bands like that don't come around that often, and working in radio brings with it endless exposure to bands that all sound the same, or at least follow the same formula hoping for success. Don't get me wrong, I'm not disavowing talent. It takes a lot of it to even get noticed in the music biz, but talent isn't enough. Tenacity, perseverance, and being willing to put your heart and soul out there day after day all come into play. Yet, still there are no guarantees. But, I digress.
For the past two years I've been following a little known band out of Bowling Green, Kentucky called Schools. When I first heard these guys I was blown away. I knew there was a hidden gem in their talent. Fans of Cage The Elephant will enjoy Schools. They are, to me, a more mature Cage The Elephant - with more depth and diversity that is truly enticing to listen to. I wanted to know where I could get their album only to find out that all that was available was a song or two on ReverbNation.com. Well, I can finally breath a sigh of relief as the band is releasing a new album this spring (produced by Grammy winner Jay Joyce), and is currently working hard to land a slot at Bonaroo.
Check out the teaser for the new album and hopefully, like me, you'll get goose bumps at the thought of what the future holds for these guys. There is really something special here.
